CARE-GIVERS IN ISRAEL
Feb 2016 - MCFII partnered with a group of care-givers in Jerusalem and through this group, MCFII will sponsor Yochai Tamir who is living below the poverty line for his graphic design course in Jerusalem. We pray that Yochai will do well and his income will improve after his graduation. Amen!

OPERATION EXODUS
MCFII hosted the 1st conference in Singapore organized by Operation Exodus: “Returning Home – Aliyah” on 5th July 2014.

We hope that through this Conference, we have more prayers partners to pray for Israel.

SHAVEI ISRAEL
Our 2nd project is Partnering with SHAVEI ISRAEL

SHAVEI Israel is the organization who brought back the lost tribe Bnei Menasseh to Israel.
The Bnei Menasseh has started to make Aliyah since 2010.

SHAVEI Israel is the Proposer for the Technical Education

SHAVEI Israel (The Proposer) manages the funds disbursements for its intended purposes and provides MCFII with a regular report

MCFII sponsored the following Recipients (in JAN 2016):
 
1 - Male Bus Driver

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Shimshon is a Bnei Menashe immigrant who has devoted a number of years working with more recent immigrants to assist them with their integration into Israeli society. In the past he worked as a bus driver and would now like to return to that line of work. In order to be re-certified, he must take a refresher course of 10 lessons, which will enable him to once again get work in the field. He requires assistance of 3,800 shekels to cover the costs of the 10 lessons, the application fee for the license as well as the cost of the test.

2 - Male Engineer

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Yosef is married and has a child. After completing his IDF military service, he worked for a number of years on an assembly line in a factory. He recently decided to pursue an old dream of his: to study machine engineering and become a full-fledged engineer. He enrolled at the ORT college in Karmiel. For the tuition, he needs 10,000 shekels, and a monthly stipend of 1,800 shekels (x 12 months), for a total of 31,600 shekels.

MCFII sponsored the following Recipients (in Feb 2015)
 
1 - Female Certified English Teacher

PRAISE! REPORT -  Avital completed her first year of study successfully. She begins her second year in the program and is doing very well!

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Avital made aliyah to Israel from Manipur, India. She began studying at Herzog College outside Jerusalem in pursuit of a degree to teach English as a second language. This certification will enable her to work in the Israeli school system, where there is a shortage of qualified people to teach English properly. The cost of the program is 13,900 shekels per year and Avital has requested assistance in the amount of 6000 shekels (she insists on paying for most of the tuition herself!)..
2 - Female Certified Stylist & Manicurist

PRAISE! REPORT - Shirley completed the course with success and received her official certification!! She is working on setting up a small styling/ manicure business out of her home.

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Shirley is a mother of two young children who made Aliyah to Israel from Mizoram, India. She is studying towards certification to work as a stylist and manicurist, which will enable her to have flexible work hours and earn a decent income without detracting from her duties as a mother. The cost of the program is 7,000 shekels, and Shirley is requesting support for 3,500 shekels, or half the amount.

3 - Male Certified Baker & Cook

Yair Phulen - has worked in a number of menial jobs since making Aliyah from India, including most recently as a security guard. Last year, due to a medical condition that he suffers from, he was no longer able to continue in this line of work, and he has had difficulty finding other options because of his weak Hebrew language skills. But Yair is in fact a talented baker and cook, and would like to take part in a professional training program that will certify him to work as such. This will provide him with an opportunity to earn a respectable living while engaging in something that he loves. The cost of the program is 10,000 shekels, and Yair is requesting help in the amount of 5000 shekels.

He has discontinued with his studies.

4 - Female Certified Stylist & Manicurist

PRAISE! REPORT -  Mala completed the course with success and received her official certification!! She is working on setting up a small styling/ manicure business out of her home.

5 - Male Certified Computer & Electrical Technician

David Vaiphei - would like to study to become a computer and electrical technician. He served in an elite IDF unit in the army and is highly motivated. The cost of the course is 8,000 shekels and David is requesting support for 4,000 shekels.

He has discontinued with his studies.

6 - Male Certified Technician

Daniel – a father of three, Daniel worked mostly in manual labor until suffering a heart attack which does not allow him to continue to do so. He would like to study to become a technician, which is far less physically demanding than his previous work, in order to re-enter the work force and support his family. The cost of the course is 8,000 shekels. David and his family are living in terrible poverty so even though he requested support for 4,000 shekels, we believe that he could use assistance in the amount of 8,000.

   
MCFII sponsored the following Recipients (in 2014):
 
1 - Female Certified social worker

PRAISE! REPORT - Sonya is graduating from College in June with her degree in social work! She has already been approached by the municipality (in northern Israel), and been asked to interview for a position there as a municipal social worker! As you can imagine, she is very excited at the possibility that she will soon be working in her field and with her own community.

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Age 29, made Aliyah with her family in 1999. She is married and has 3 daughters, and is a bright and talented young woman. In order to assist her, Shavei Israel helped Sonia to get accepted into an academic program where she is training to become a certified social worker. This will enable her to have a career and earn a good wage. But her family is in financial distress, and she requires a monthly stipend of $600 to help her make ends meet so that she can complete her studies and earn a degree. In addition, she requires a one-time sum of $800 to cover the costs of registration at college.

2 - Male Egged Bus Driver

PRAISE! REPORT - Tuvia completed his course and is now a certified bus driver. He got a job as a bus driver and is very happy!

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Has begun studying at a private school to earn the requisite certification to become a bus driver for the Egged bus company. This will provide him and his family with a steady and reliable income. But the cost of the program is 20,000 shekels, and Tuvia needs financial help to pay it.

3 - Female Certified Dental Assistant

PRAISE! REPORT - Michal completed her exams and successfully graduated as a certified dental assistant. She is now looking for a job and has some leads in Ashdod and Ashkelon.

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Is a motivated young woman who is participating in a course given at Hadassah Hospital to become a certified dental assistant (there is a shortage of such people in Israel so she will have no problem finding a job). Michal needs a one-time stipend of 6,000 shekels to complete the course.

4 - Female MBA

PRAISE! REPORT - Esther continues with her studies to become a social worker. She has another course to take which ends in August, and will then be able to work, most likely at the social services department.

TECHNICAL EDUCATION SPONSORSHIP - Aged 34, is married and has three children. She made Aliyah from India, in the year 2000. Subsequently, she completed her BA degree at Bar-Ilan University and is now in the middle of her Master’s degree. She was diagnosed with a terrible disease and is undergoing difficult treatments, which prevents her from working and earning money to support her family while she studies. Esther needs a one-time grant of 15,000 shekels to help her through the end of the school year.
